SAM Team Member Spotlight: Kim Adami

Team Member Spotlight - Kim Adami

Local Marketing Coordinator of Storage Asset Management

Kim Adami

Q:  Can you introduce yourself and provide some background on your role within SAM? What are your primary responsibilities and areas of expertise?

A:  Hello, my name is Kimberly Adami and I am the Local Marketing Coordinator for SAM. I have been doing this role for a little over three years and some of my primary responsibilities are assisting district managers and store managers with local marketing needs to better promote their stores. I do this through these ways:

  • Creating marketing lists to help them with business connections.
  • Using the SAM Core Values when doing events. I believe in the Core Values and advise all store managers that when hosting an event, they need to implement them into it:
    • Commitment- Committing to building a relationship with your community and helping the needs of your community through partnerships and giving back in some way.
    • Cultivate- Making that lasting connection that plants a forever seed in the minds of the people in your community to be the place they want to store with, because you showed you cared about them and aren’t just a place to store items.
    • Collaborate- Building ongoing partnerships and working with the local groups to meet the needs of the local community organizations through sponsorships, hosting events, attending events. etc.
    • Conscientiousness- Believe in continuing to know what the community needs and having ongoing support through partnerships- not just being a one-time thing.
    • Celebrate Successes– I put this one last. I always tell store managers that once you have hosted an event and raised money for your local charity to have a check made and present it to the organization and have a picture taken to share on the Team’s Marketing channel to share your success with others.

So, I would have to say my expertise is having passion for what I do and creating new local marketing ideas to be the brand everyone remembers when needing storage. I believe in what we do and our SAM team.

Q:  What attracted you to this role and our company?

A:  I saw the job posting on Indeed and applied. I was working for a day care and wanted something I could grow a future with, so I applied. After a little over three years as a store manager and marketing my properties so strongly, I was introduced by my district manager to this role. He felt this was where I should be with SAM, so I applied. What attracted me is that I get to help other store managers hopefully have the success I did when I was a store manager so they can also grow and develop with SAM.

Q:  What do you enjoy most about working at SAM? Is there a specific aspect of your job or the company culture that you find particularly rewarding?

A:  I don’t have one specific thing that I enjoy most but I can say that working for SAM has been one of the best decisions I ever made. I enjoy everything about working for SAM and the culture it provides. The thing that is the most rewarding to me is when stores are connecting with local charities in their community. They are raising awareness of the needs of those charities and hosting, sponsoring, and attending events to give back in some way. It’s a great way to show the community and people in it we care and also to promote brand awareness.

Q:  Has a memorable life lesson or advice shaped your outlook or approach to life and work?

A:  A memorable life lesson would have to be watching my mother always giving to someone who needed anything with no expectations from it, just seeing her big heart and simplicity for being kind to people. For example, if you needed $10 and it was her last $10 until payday, she would give it to you with no hesitation. So, she taught me to be the same way. I am also a firm believer in destiny. Everything in life happens at that moment for a reason. This is why I am here with SAM. It was my meant to be place, to help with whatever I can.

Q:  Outside of work, what hobbies or interests do you enjoy pursuing in your free time?

A:  I am an avid crafter. I enjoy making wreaths and any other craft related items and doing craft fairs. I also have been known to donate some of my items to help raise money for charities. I am also a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan forever.

Q:  Can you share a fun fact about yourself?

A: A fun fact about me is I wrote a poem one morning at 3am and want to make a children’s book out of it. I am still trying to figure out the next steps.

Q:  Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself?

A:  I have been married for 23 years and have a new granddaughter who is awesome and an amazing daughter who has overcome many challenges in life. I also have one brother and one sister. I have a 14 pound cat and some of my passions are cooking, traveling, camping, and crafting.

Q:  What is your go-to Sunday cleaning/organizing song?

A:  Lately, I’ve been listening to Cooper Alan on Spotify. The album is This is Cooper Alan and a couple of my favorites songs are: I Plead the Fifth, First Rodeo, and I Can’t Dance.
