Q: How long have you been working for SAM?
A: 5 years and 10 months
Q: How did you come to be part of the team at SAM? What attracted you to this role and our company?
A: A SAM district manager reached out to me regarding a position opening in Lexington, SC. I liked that it was a small company, family environment, and the company promotes individuals from within.
Q: What do you enjoy most about working at SAM? Is there a specific aspect of your job or the company culture that you find particularly rewarding?
A: One of the things I truly enjoy is meeting new people and building connections. It’s always refreshing to interact with individuals from different backgrounds and perspectives. Additionally, the support I receive from my team is invaluable. We collaborate closely, and the sense of unity and mutual support fosters a positive work environment, making it easier to achieve our collective goals and overcome challenges together. The most rewarding is helping/coaching individuals. Seeing their growth and success is incredibly rewarding, and it’s fulfilling to know that I played a part in guiding them toward achieving their goals. Watching them develop both personally and professionally brings a sense of pride and motivates me to continue supporting them in every way I can.
Q: Outside of work, what hobbies or interests do you enjoy pursuing in your free time?
A: I have a deep appreciation for outdoor activities like camping, hunting, and fishing. There’s something special about spending time in nature, whether it’s camping under the stars, hunting in the quiet of the woods, or fishing by a peaceful lake. I also enjoy gardening and farming, where I can connect with the earth and see the fruits of my labor grow. These activities not only provide a sense of peace and accomplishment but also remind me of the importance of sustainability and living in harmony with the natural world.
Q: Is there a memorable life lesson or piece of advice that has shaped your outlook or approach to life and work?
A: Seize every opportunity that comes your way and don’t let fear hold you back. Fear can often create self-doubt and make us hesitate, but it’s important to push through that uncertainty and take risks. Embracing new challenges and stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to growth, learning, and unexpected rewards. The more we embrace opportunities, the more we build confidence and pave the way for success.
Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself?
A: I raise chickens, ducks, rabbits, and goats, which has become a fulfilling part of my life. Caring for these animals teaches me responsibility and provides a unique sense of connection to nature. The chickens and ducks give me fresh eggs, while the rabbits offer both companionship and the opportunity to learn about animal care. My goats are always full of personality, and they bring a lot of joy to my daily routines. Raising these animals not only contributes to a more self-sustaining lifestyle but also brings a sense of pride in knowing I’m providing for them and myself.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself?
A: I am a proud mother of four wonderful children and a Gigi to eight amazing grandchildren. Being a mother has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and watching my children grow into incredible adults has brought me immense joy. Now, as a grandmother, I get to experience the love and laughter of a new generation. There’s something special about being able to share wisdom, create memories, and spoil my grandkids with love. My family is truly my greatest blessing, and I cherish every moment spent with them.
Q: What is your go-to Sunday cleaning/organizing song?
A: Anything by Steve Miller Band
