Meet this month’s store team spotlight, Brian Williams from Storage Sense – Charlottesville! Brian was nominated for the spotlight by his peer, Kippen. Kippen said, “Dependable, knowledgeable, thoughtful. Brian is a very good trainer.” Get to know Brian in the Q&A below!

Q:  How long have you been working for SAM?

A:  I have been working for SAM for just over three years.

Q:  How did you come to be part of the team at SAM? What attracted you to this role and our company? 

A:  I saw an opportunity to start as an assistant manager and work my way to store manager, which really appealed to me. I appreciate the balance of roles in my daily work while serving a need in the community.

Q:  What do you enjoy most about working at SAM? Is there a specific aspect of your job or the company culture that you find particularly rewarding?

A:  I enjoy the balance of interacting with tenants, focusing on renting units, adding on merchandise to rentals, keeping the facility clean, and assisting other managers.

Q:  Outside of work, what hobbies or interests do you enjoy pursuing in your free time?

A:  I enjoy golf, bowling, karaoke, watching documentaries, playing video games, and have a fascination with the universe.

Q:  Is there a memorable life lesson or piece of advice that has shaped your outlook or approach to life and work?

A:  I received advice from a supervisor who explained a proper work-life balance is always important.  

Q:  Can you share a fun fact about yourself?

A:  I collect small house gnomes and have over 50 in my home. With my terrible memory, it’s fun to play along with them moving on their own when I’m not around, because, “I don’t remember putting that there.”

Q:  Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself?

A:  I have a Morkie (Maltese + Yorkshire Terrier) who is three years old and absolutely adorable!
