Q: Can you introduce yourself and provide some background on your role within SAM? What are your primary responsibilities and areas of expertise?
A: I started with SAM at the end of November 2021 as a store manager that was kept through a transition. I worked my way up to District Trainer, District Manager in Training, and now District Manager. My area of expertise would be auctions because I did so many as the store manager of a transition property in which the previous owner held an auction once a year.
Q: What attracted you to this role and our company?
A: SAM regional director, Chad Case, came to the property and asked me to stay on as store manager through the transition. I liked SAM’s willingness to support me in my position within the company and their dedication to my success.
Q: What do you enjoy most about working at SAM? Is there a specific aspect of your job or the company culture that you find particularly rewarding?
A: The people. Everyone is always nice and willing to help any way they can. I really enjoy coaching and giving people the knowledge to be successful.
Q: Has a memorable life lesson or advice shaped your outlook or approach to life and work?
A: SAM is the first corporation I have ever worked for. In my mind I had come up with every reason as to why it wouldn’t work in a small town. I had to make a conscious decision to go into it with an open mind and be willing to learn everything SAM was going to teach me. Had I not done that, I would have set myself up for failure and not be where I am at today.
Q: Outside of work, what hobbies or interests do you enjoy pursuing in your free time?
A: I train and show horses.
Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself?
A: Any time I travel to do site visits, I always have a gallon of sweet tea with me.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself?
A: I live on a 15 farm with a dog and cat that separately just showed up one day. I also have three horses, with one due to have a baby next spring.
