SAM Team Member Spotlight: Taylor Richardson

Team Member Spotlight - Taylor Richardson

District Manager in Training

Taylor Richardson

Meet this month’s store team spotlight, Taylor Richardson, district manager in training (DMIT) and former store manager of Valley Storage – Lexington. Taylor was nominated for the spotlight by her district manager, Scott. Scott said, “Taylor has been very helpful. She has stepped up and covered other locations, not only in our district, but other districts. She has helped with new transitions. She represents SAMs core values.” Get to know Taylor in the Q&A below!

Q:  How long have you been working for SAM?

A:  I have been here for 3.5 years. I moved into the DMIT role at the end of September.

Q:  How did you come to be part of the team at SAM? What attracted you to this role and our company?

A:  I was looking for something that was less stressful than my previous job. I also missed interacting with customers.

Q:  What do you enjoy most about working at SAM? Is there a specific aspect of your job or the company culture that you find particularly rewarding?

A:  The culture here is amazing. Everyone is helpful and, as an employee, I feel seen by upper management.

Q:  Outside of work, what hobbies or interests do you enjoy pursuing in your free time?

A:  I enjoy art and writing. I would like to be published one day.

Q:  Is there a memorable life lesson or piece of advice that has shaped your outlook or approach to life and work?

A:  It’s cliché, but my old high school principal would start the day with the quote, “Have a great day or not, the choice is yours.” Most of the time this holds true. While we cannot control life, we can control how we react to it.

Q:  Can you share a fun fact about yourself?

A:  I have an unfortunately large collection of teapots.

Q:  Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself?

A:  I have three cats and a dog – Lily, Luna, Mango, and Gwen.
