Meet this month’s corporate team spotlight, Thomas Myint, Business Development Manager! Thomas was nominated for the spotlight by two of his colleagues who complimented him on his commitment to SAM’s core values, productivity, and his innovation in SAM’s remote operations department. Get to know Thomas in the Q&A below!
Q: Can you introduce yourself and provide some background on your role within SAM? What are your primary responsibilities and areas of expertise?
A: My name is Thomas Myint, and I serve as a Business Development Manager within our organization. My work focuses on identifying growth opportunities, building strong partnerships, and supporting the advancement of our remote operations model. I bring a background in operations, facility oversight, and team leadership, and I take great pride in connecting operational excellence with strategic expansion. My daily efforts are centered on positioning our company for long term success and ensuring that each new opportunity is thoughtfully evaluated.
Q: What attracted you to this role and our company?
A: I joined SAM after a career in business development, I thought it would be a temporary gig and just something for me to do instead of retiring. What’s kept me here grinding is the people I work with. I view this company as a unique collection of professionals working toward a unified goal: succeeding through community.
Q: What do you enjoy most about working at SAM? Is there a specific aspect of your job or the company culture that you find particularly rewarding?
A: I truly enjoy the spirit of teamwork and shared purpose at SAM. There is a deep commitment to excellence paired with a very human focus on supporting and uplifting one another. Watching remote operations evolve from a vision into a powerful strategic advantage has been incredibly rewarding. The opportunity to celebrate the wins of our teams, cheer on colleagues, and build relationships across departments is something I value every single day.
Q: Has a memorable life lesson or advice shaped your outlook or approach to life and work?
A: One lesson that has always stayed with me is this: growth lives on the other side of discomfort. Embracing challenges, staying curious, and uplifting others along the way has shaped how I approach leadership and problem solving. I try to meet each new responsibility with both gratitude and grit, and to remember that we rise most when we rise together.
Q: Outside of work, what hobbies or interests do you enjoy pursuing in your free time?
A: Outside of work, I enjoy tabletop gaming, creative writing, and exploring new technology. I also love experimenting in the kitchen, and I take great joy in creating dishes that make people smile. And yes, I do occasionally narrate dungeon battles as if they were boardroom strategy sessions. Heroes and spreadsheets both matter in life.
Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself?
A: I owned and operated the first fully digital camera store in Texas.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself?
A: I am deeply passionate about supporting others, building strong teams, and creating environments where people feel valued and empowered. That same drive extends into my personal life, where I try to show up for my neighbors, volunteer for local charities, and look for small ways to make a difference in my community. I believe in celebrating effort, sharing encouragement, and leading with positivity and humor even during the busiest seasons. My life goal, both personally and professionally, is to leave people and places better than I found them and to help build a culture of kindness, purpose, and growth wherever I go.
