Q: How long have you been working for SAM?
A: I have been working for SAM for four years.
Q: How did you come to be part of the team at SAM? What attracted you to this role and our company?
A: I became a part of the team when a friend of mine was working for a SAM-managed store in Charlotte, NC. I began there as a part-time assistant manager and became a full-time store manager not even six month later at the store I am at now. I have always been a waitress and a bartender and this was definitely a change of pace for me.
Q: What do you enjoy most about working at SAM? Is there a specific aspect of your job or the company culture that you find particularly rewarding?
A: I love my job. I think the most rewarding part is the ability to run this store. I have a district manager, but I’m given the independence to run this store as if it were my own.
Q: Outside of work, what hobbies or interests do you enjoy pursuing in your free time?
A: Outside of work, my family and my grandson, Domonic, keep me busy. I have him every Saturday night. He is literally the light of my life and I cannot imagine this world without him in it with me.
Q: Is there a memorable life lesson or piece of advice that has shaped your outlook or approach to life and work?
A: My past is quite overwhelming, however it has taught me to love life and people a little bit more.
Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself?
A: A fun or funny fact about myself is I was born and raised in Eastern Long Island and I have never seen nor eaten a pecan pie. A few years ago, I discovered pecan pie and within a week’s time I consumed seven whole pies with whipped cream. Needless to say, I loved it.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself?
A: My family is top tier in my life. Other than that, my two dogs take precedence in my life. Their names are Ziggy, a Boxer/Pit who will be 11 in April, and then there is MJ, a full-blooded Pit who just turned two in November. They are my babies and I consider them a big part of my life and family.
