Q: Can you introduce yourself and provide some background on your role within SAM? What are your primary responsibilities and areas of expertise?
A: I currently serve as the Assistant Corporate Controller and have held this role for approximately five months. In this position, I oversee corporate accounts receivable, accounts payable, and property-side accounts payable.
Q: What attracted you to this role and our company?
A: I began my career with the company six years ago as a property accountant. I was hired through JFC Global, bringing over 20 years of accounting experience. At the time, I was working in Harrisburg and was seeking an opportunity closer to home. I have a strong interest in working with numbers, and the position also offered the benefit of a convenient commute, located just 10 miles from my home.
Q: What do you enjoy most about working at SAM? Is there a specific aspect of your job or the company culture that you find particularly rewarding?
A: I value the flexibility the role provides, and I take great pride in sharing my knowledge with others to support their growth and contribute to their success at SAM.
Q: Has a memorable life lesson or advice shaped your outlook or approach to life and work?
A: Strive to find ways to make your work engaging and enjoyable.
Q: Outside of work, what hobbies or interests do you enjoy pursuing in your free time?
A: Spending time with my family, crocheting, scrapbooking, and collecting salt & pepper shakers.
Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself?
A: I have 232 sets of salt & pepper shakers.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself?
A: I have a four-year-old husky named Ruby that my husband bought for me as a gift when I graduated with my master’s degree. I call Ruby a crazy dog because she likes to lay in the sun and doesn’t like being out in the cold too long. However, she is my fur baby.
