Meet this month’s store team spotlight, Chris Kathol, store manager of Storage Sense – Kansas City. Chris was nominated by her district manager who said: “Chris is absolutely amazing! She manages her store like an owner and her customers and her team love working with her. She is always willing to help out wherever and whenever needed without hesitation. She is also incredibly talented and does most of the repairs at her location herself. She is truly a superhero for our team.” Get to know Chris in the Q&A below!

Q:  How long have you been working for SAM?

A:  Just over four years.

Q:  How did you come to be part of the team at SAM? What attracted you to this role and our company? 

A:   I worked for the previous owners and was asked to stay on when SAM took over.

Q:  What do you enjoy most about working at SAM? Is there a specific aspect of your job or the company culture that you find particularly rewarding?

A:   I enjoy being part of a team where you can share your victories and also the built in support that it offers.

Q:  Outside of work, what hobbies or interests do you enjoy pursuing in your free time?

A:   I enjoy golfing, listening to music, and a good movie.

Q:  Is there a memorable life lesson or piece of advice that has shaped your outlook or approach to life and work?

A:   “Measure twice, cut once.” Preparation is never wasted time. The rush to do something can often ruin the result. Taking an extra five minutes to double check can save hours of damage control later.

Q:  Can you share a fun fact about yourself?

A:  I make cornhole boards.
