SAM Focuses on Training and Development

Training and career development are at the top of the list of factors workers take into consideration when looking for a job. In fact, according to LinkedIn’s 2019 Workforce Learning Report, 94% of employees say they would stay at a company longer if it invested in helping them learn. SAM is excited to announce that we have added a Training and Development Manager to the team and successfully launched Vision, our eLearning platform in 2020. SAM has partnered with Grace Hill, an industry leader for computer-based training from the multi-housing/property management segment with more than 20 years of experience. This new platform, Vision, will provide the tools and resources necessary for the continued development of our team and ensure we maintain best-in-class management services!

With an online library and the ability to create proprietary lessons for SAM company-specific training, all our learning is accessible from one place. This gives our team members the opportunity to acquire new skills that could prove very useful as they grow into their new responsibilities and roles.

SAM also launched our Train-the-Trainer program in 2020. This program is a framework for training current trainers so they can continue to train new hires and current employees on new knowledge and skills. Train-the-Trainer is a live webinar that occurs each month for SAM and is conducted by Heather Booth, Training and Development Manager. Some characteristics that make a good a trainer include strong industry and content knowledge, excellent communications skills, and flexibility and creativity. Each Train-the-Trainer webinar focuses on enhancing these skills and the development of our trainer team to ensure we maintain best-in-class trainers!
