SAM Team Member Spotlight: Lisa Dolliver

Staff Spotlight - Lisa Dolliver

Store Manager of Stack N Stor – Milton

Lisa Dolliver

Q:  How long have you been working for SAM?

A:  My 2nd anniversary will be January 13, 2024.

Q:  How did you come to be part of the team at SAM? What attracted you to this role and our company?

A:  I was a tenant at a property and struggling during Covid to pay my bill. I learned there was a new property that was getting ready to open – Stack N Stor Milton. I Googled it and as soon as I saw a picture of the building, there was something about it that just made me want to be there. I started at two other locations and was promoted to Store Manager of Stack N Stor Milton on May 4, 2022. In addition to the draw I felt to the picture, the District Manager at the time talked about opportunity for growth which was very important to me.

Q:  What do you enjoy most about working at SAM? Is there a specific aspect of your job or the company culture that you find particularly rewarding?

A:  I wasn’t an employee long before I realized what a great company SAM is. Our district is like a family, and I’ve met some of my dearest friends because of my employment with SAM. I’ve learned in just the last year or so that family extends beyond just our district, and I couldn’t be happier to work for such an organization. I enjoy the connection I have to my SAM coworkers, my owners, and my tenants alike. Those relationships are very important to me.

Q: Is there a memorable life lesson or piece of advice that has shaped your outlook or approach to life and work?

A:  I have been a caregiver all my life due to various health issues and disabilities family members have or have had. If it has taught me anything, it has been: Be adaptable. Be aware of your blessings. Be a friend when you see someone in need. You might be the only one they have in that moment and that can make all the difference.

Q:  Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies or interests that you enjoy pursuing in your free time?

A: My favorite things to do are to spend time with my family (which includes my fur babies) and friends who have become family. I love to read and help animals whenever I can.

Q:  Can you share a fun fact about yourself?

A: I was involved in professional wrestling for about seven years in the 90s.

Q:  Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself?

A:  I have been with my husband for almost 29 years, married for almost 27 years. We have four sons who are 13 to 23 years old. We have all rescued animals which are currently two dogs and a cat from CA, TN, and NY. I am very passionate about animals. My dad taught me young to be their voice whenever possible which has led to many rescues including dogs, cats, fish, frogs, and a starling over the years. I have rescue and advocate connections across the globe, it has become such a part of my life for the last 15 plus years.

Q:  What is your go to Sunday cleaning/organizing song?

A:   I have a very eclectic play list! If I have to choose, I would say it’s a toss-up between Hips Don’t Lie by Shakira or Can’t Hold Us by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.
