Transition Marketing Manager of Storage Asset Management
Jarryd Goldstein
Q: Can you introduce yourself and provide some background on your role within the company? What are your primary responsibilities and areas of expertise?
A: I am the Transition Marketing Manager, which covers multiple avenues in our SAM Marketing Department. I oversee the transitional piece of transitions and new development properties joining SAM from the marketing side. I assist with getting new stores all their initial marketing materials (print and small signage). Additionally, I assist with permanent signage for our properties if they are rebranding or a new development property is in need of signage. Lastly, I oversee our Local Marketing and Creative team as well.
Q: How did you come to be part of the team at SAM? What attracted you to this role and our company?
A: I joined SAM right out of college back in the summer of 2019, and I couldn’t have made a better decision there. Going through the interview process and gaining knowledge on this company really made SAM stand out to me. The job opening at the time seemed like a great opportunity to put what I learned getting my degree to the test and to broaden my skills as well.
Q: What do you enjoy most about working at SAM? Is there a specific aspect of your job or the company culture that you find particularly rewarding?
A: What I enjoy the most about SAM is the culture. You always hear how companies are one big team where everyone is willing to help each other out. SAM exemplifies that perfectly. I get to work closely with the rest of SAM’s Marketing team, but I also work closely with SAM’s Transition team which has been great over the last few years, working with members from Transitions, Accounting, IT, Ops, etc. Knowing everyone is willing to help out where they can and vice versa really makes this company special.
Q: Is there a memorable life lesson or piece of advice that has shaped your outlook or approach to life and work?
A: Going into each day with a positive attitude and knowing everyone here is also here to help when you need it. Having support from all your colleagues goes a long way.
Q: Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies or interests that you enjoy pursuing in your free time?
A: Golfing, visiting friends and family, and relaxing shopping trips with my wife and dog.
Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself?
A: I am a very passionate sports fan (specifically Philadelphia sports). Growing up right outside of Philadelphia the Eagles, Phillies, and Sixers are a huge part of my life. So, watching a lot of football, baseball, and basketball takes up a good chunk of my free time. Although it’s not always easy being a Philadelphia sports fan, I wouldn’t trade that for a second.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself?
A: I recently got married back in April, after being with my now wife since we met back in college in 2018. We have an amazing three year-old bichon/toy poodle mix – Bodhi, who is the center of our life. He pretty much goes everywhere with us.
Q: What is your go to Sunday cleaning/organizing song?
A: My go to cleaning/organizing song would have to be “Centerfold” by The J. Geils Band
