Q: Can you introduce yourself and provide some background on your role within the company? What are your primary responsibilities and areas of expertise?
A: My focus currently in this role is working with our pricing, promotional discounts, and a lot of data analysis within the markets that our stores are currently in. I do a lot of deep dives into properties when owners and investment groups have questions and I work with the district managers to help them understand what myself and Bret, Director of Revenue Management, look at every day.
Q: How did you come to be part of the team at SAM? What attracted you to this role and our company?
A: I came to SAM from the retail world almost three years ago in April. I wanted to come to SAM because of the culture that was in place when I got here and the culture that is currently still in place.
Q: What do you enjoy most about working at SAM? Is there a specific aspect of your job or the company culture that you find particularly rewarding?
A: I enjoy working with all the different groups of people and owners that we work with here at SAM. I enjoy finding different ideas and data that help our sites find ways to get changed and running in a great direction.
Q: Is there a memorable life lesson or piece of advice that has shaped your outlook or approach to life and work?
A: I enjoy listening to motivational speakers, such as Eric Thomas. One of my favorite quotes I try to go into each day and live by is, “When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breath, then you’ll be successful.” I treat every single day as if I’m trying to “win” every single day, having the competitive nature that I do.
Q: Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies or interests that you enjoy pursuing in your free time?
A: Outside of work, I enjoy walking my three dogs and spending time with my wife. We try to take a trip to South Beach, FL at least once a year as our yearly getaway to spend some time in one of our favorite places.
Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself?
A: I played baseball all through my time in college and got to play and visit multiple NCAA and professional stadiums in the Midwest. I am very grateful for these experiences and opportunities that I had, knowing that not many people get to have the same experiences.
Q: What is your go to Sunday cleaning/organizing song?
A: Typically I listen to a lot of Wiz Khalifa. My go to song has always been “Black and Yellow.”
