Q: How long have you been working for SAM?
A: I just recently made one year.
Q: How did you come to be part of the team at SAM? What attracted you to this role and our company?
A: It was by chance as I came into the office to make payment on my rental unit. I like the interaction with the public, and with this position I see different faces every day. No day is the same.
Q: What do you enjoy most about working at SAM? Is there a specific aspect of your job or the company culture that you find particularly rewarding?
A: I enjoy helping customers find a suitable unit to store their items and assuring them they made the right choice by renting with Selma Self Storage. Tenants new and old have many reasons for needing storage, including myself. So, when they rent a unit or move out, they let me know they were satisfied with the services they received.
Q: Is there a memorable life lesson or piece of advice that has shaped your outlook or approach to life and work?
A: My lessons in life have come from many resources (people and places). Work hard and the biggest pay off is self-satisfaction. A piece of advice that was told to me in grammar school was, “When you are on time, you are late.”
Q: Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies or interests that you enjoy pursuing in your free time?
A: In my free time I watch a little TV or play early morning mind puzzles (Toy Blast, Cooking Challenges) on my phone.
Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself?
A: I am a native of Chicago.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself?
A: I have a 2-year-old German shepherd name Cody Benjamin (my son).
Q: What is your go to Sunday cleaning/organizing song?
A: I have a playlist that is a mixture of gospel/Smooth R&B.
