Q: Can you introduce yourself and provide some background on your role within SAM? What are your primary responsibilities and areas of expertise?
A: My Name is Ben Elicker, and I am a Sales Analyst here at SAM. I just recently transitioned to this role, previously being on the Financial Planning & Analysis/Business Intelligence team for the last four years. I handle projections for new sites that are interested in transitioning over to our management, as well as different analysis’ for our sales team to help strengthen our model. My main expertise is dealing with budgeting and forecasting.
Q: What attracted you to this role and our company?
A: I started as an accounting/finance intern in June 2022 before my last year of college. I continued working through my senior year at SAM and started as a full time Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst upon my graduation in June 2023. I then transitioned to a Sales Analyst role in June 2026. What attracted me to SAM was my love for numbers, and the ability to apply what I was learning in college to a real work environment. What attracted me to my current role was my love for budgeting and forecasting that I developed the past few years. I love being able to take a pile of data and turn it into a performance forecast.
Q: What do you enjoy most about working at SAM? Is there a specific aspect of your job or the company culture that you find particularly rewarding?
A: I love the people here. Everyone is always so helpful and friendly and I have made some really strong connections during my time here. What I find most rewarding is being able to see successes blossom into opportunities for myself and other people.
Q: Has a memorable life lesson or advice shaped your outlook or approach to life and work?
A: Philippians 4:13 – “ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Q: Outside of work, what hobbies or interests do you enjoy pursuing in your free time?
A: I love to play the drums and I am trying to teach myself how to play the acoustic guitar. I love running and plan to complete another half marathon in the next few years. I also love watching football and baseball and enjoy rooting for my Birds (the Eagles) and the Phillies.
Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself?
A: I have been working on the audio/visual team at my church for the last 13 years.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself?
A: What started as a small collection of hats from my college many years ago turned into a full collection of over 50 different hats now that range from places I have been, to gifts from family and friends. I am always looking for new ones to add!
