Meet this month’s store team spotlight, Shannon Dunning, District Trainer. Shannon was nominated by her District Manager, who said, “Shannon is one of the most supportive leaders we have. She always strives to improve and raise the performance of our properties.” Get to know Shannon in the Q&A below!
Q: How long have you been working for SAM?
A: I have been with SAM over five years.
Q: How did you become part of the SAM team? What attracted you to this role and our company?
A: I became an employee because I wanted to change career paths and take on a new challenge. I was looking for an opportunity to learn new skills, grow professionally, and see what I could accomplish in a different role.
Q: Has a memorable life lesson or advice shaped your outlook or approach to life and work?
A: One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in life is that change can be scary, but it can also open the door to new opportunities. Every challenge I’ve faced has taught me something, helped me grow, and made me stronger. I try to look at life with a positive attitude and focus on what I can learn from each experience.
Q: Outside of work, what hobbies or interests do you enjoy pursuing in your free time?
A: I love to travel to different places with different cultures. I also just like making memories with my grandchildren.
Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself?
A: I like to build and paint model cars.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself?
A: I’m a very proud mom of five children and the best grandma I can be to five grandchildren.
